Desi Senior Cafe' started in April 2023 as an collaborative effort of American Diversity Group, Asian American Center of Frederick and Aavanee. In the course of time, DSC evolved as an Aavanee program. Currently the Frederick program is partially supported by Frederick County Government, Department of Aging & Independence/Urbana Senior Center.

South Asian Seniors meet biweekly on Sundays and have an enriching experience through networking, entertainment, picnics, lunch, festivities and health check-up/awareness seminars. The meeting venue is: Urbana library and Clarksburg MD. The program in Frederick County is funded through Community Foundation Impact grant.
The program is planning to expand to African American Seniors as well as Spanish speaking Seniors in future.
